Position Overview

This newly created position will start as a part-time position with flexible hours, and is expected to grow commensurate with your efforts. We are looking for a self-starter with a dynamic personality, business development ideas, and great enthusiasm.

  • Part-time position to start
  • Based out of TMVC’s head office in Burnaby with some travel within Metro Vancouver, particularly during flu season
  • Must have current/valid CRNBC RN registration
  • BScN degree preferred but not essential depending upon prior experience
  • Must have successfully completed BCCDC Immunization Certification course
  • Must maintain current CPR certification
  • Previous supervisory experience, effective leadership capabilities helpful
  • Willingness to work in a collaborative team focused environment and management structure
  • Must have a clear understanding of the interconnection between financial management and the delivery of high quality health care services (you will not be expected to perform financial management functions)
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills required
  • Must be comfortable meeting prospective corporate clients and providing the medical education necessary to sell TMVC services (both travel and occupational health)
  • Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
  • Reports to CFO, Nurse Director, and (indirectly) Medical Director
  • Consult and collaborate with Nursing Director, NP Director and Operations Manager
  • Supervise approximately 15 RN’s during flu season (October-December)
  • Manage and delegate to Occupational Health Administrative Coordinator
  • Provide effective leadership to ensure that all TMVC staff work together as a cohesive team with  the same end goal.

Occupational Health Services Nurse Coordinator Functions

  • Collaborate with members of the management team to develop and capitalize on new business opportunities. This may include expanding current programs such as Workplace Influenza Clinics and Workplace Hepatitis A/B immunization clinics, as well identifying and/or developing new lines of business.
  • Coordinate and/or supervise non-travel related immunization programs including flu, TB skin testing and other occupational health services.  This will be done in conjunction with RN clinical coordinators and/or Occupational Health Administrative Coordinators.
  • Work as a clinical nurse in occupational health programs, as needed.
  •  Coordinate recruitment and training of new RN’s (and LPN’s) as required to provide occupational health related nursing services.
  • Principal contact person for medical questions from occupational health services nursing and administrative staff
  • Triage and follow up on emergency situations and adverse events which may occur during off-site occupational health services clinics
  • Liaise with pharmaceutical representatives
  • Attend management team meetings as appropriate
  • Be willing and available to speak to and educate the media and prospective occupational health corporate clients in an effort to promote TMVC services.
